We did two hikes with Spanish Highs - the first in Los Alpujarras and the second in the Cumbres Verdes. Jens was our guide for both hikes, and a second guide, Victoria, accompanied us on the second hike, as she was learning to lead hikes in that area.

Having found "Spanish Highs" website, my request for information was answered really promptly. Richard was very helpful, answered each of my queries quickly and offered various dates and walks. I was particularly pleased that they were able to meet us at our hotel. The walk was very satisfying and challenging enough for us to feel that we had stretched ourselves without being out of our depth. As a guide, Kirsten was supportive, friendly and great company. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk with Spanish Highs and the views and countryside of the Alpujarras are spectacular.

Coming from Asia (Singapore),this is my first solo trip to Spain's Andalucia. I must say this hiking experience is THE highlight of my trip!!! Richard and Kirsten made me feel very comfortable immediately when I met them. They are very knowledgeable guides who shares lots of their experience during the hike. They have also added some exploration elements, i.e. trying out a slightly more challenging short cut, digress to search for owls and eagles etc...this made the experience truely unique.

Found Spanish highs in 2011 and this is my 4th time here with them. Richard and Kiersten know the area like any good guides but they treat you as friends from the moment you arrive. Lanjaron feels like a 2nd home thanks to Spanish highs. Oh yes and the Alpujaras are fab too. Just go!

This was a stress free way of enjoying the lovely Cumbre Verde with views of the Sierra Nevada and lovely pine woods. My sister and I had just one day to spare for a walk in our five day break in Granada so walking with Richard and his colleague, Julia, saved us the hassle of planning our own walk, getting ourselves there and finding our way. It was a plus that they were such good company.

That was a great trip! When planning my summer holiday, got an idea to walk in Sierra Nevada. Just wrote to Spanish Highs and resolved in a moment which guide I'll choose. Richard was very informative and helpful in planning the trip, asked me what I need and provide me with equipment. He choose the great way for walk with amazing views and moreover I got an a great company.

Absolutely fantastic trip - Excellent, professional guides. Having just completed a 2 day expedition to the summit of Mulhacén (at just under 3500m, the highest mountain on Spain's mainland) I would thoroughly recommend Richard and Spanish Highs for any kind of adventure, particularly exploring the vast Sierra Nevada.
